Misheard Lyrics

I remember dreaming

of raspberry rain,

before realizing

Prince wasn't singing about floats,

marching bands, cheerleaders,

as in a parade,

but a six-dollar beret.

I remember thinking

that Air Supply had sung

"Even the non-stop airline,"

instead of “Even the nights are better,”

and didn't know

where the song went after that.

In The Troggs’ hit

"I feel it in my fingers, I feel it in my toes"

sounded like "I see it on my windows,

I see it on my doors"

before the age of googling

cleared up my confusion.
